Thank you for visiting our website and considering individual, couples, and family counseling for your wellness and mental health needs.
Who is my ideal client?
My ideal client would be a person who is brave enough to face their struggles, open enough to try something new and different, and strong enough to implement positive change in order to improve their lives. I have worked in the mental health profession for over 22 years and enjoy serving a variety of clientele. These include military clients (active duty and veterans), first responders, those who are struggling with grief and loss, those who need to improve their emotional regulation skills (i.e. anger), and men who are coping with relationship problems and/or divorce. I am also a counseling professor and have taught counseling students for several years.
I am an intensively trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapist. EMDR often provides relief for those who have experienced trauma and anxiety in their lives. I'm also trained in the cognitive-behavioral model: the way we think and believe affects how we feel and what we do. I am also a Gottman method couples' therapist. Gottman is an evidence-based treatment for couples wanting to enhance their relationship.
I provide a safe and warm environment where you can explore your past as it affects you in the present, enhance your present quality of life, and examine possible roadblocks to a meaningful and successful future.
