I completed my Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education & Supervision from Mercer University in 2016.  During my doctoral studies, my area of focus included trauma and torture.  I received my Master's degree (M.A.) in Community Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia.  I provide individual, group, and couples therapy for clients.  I have worked in the mental health profession for over 22 years.   I am an intensively trained EMDR Therapist for trauma and PTSD.  I currently serve as Associate Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Piedmont University.  I have published articles and given presentations on various issues including trauma, military culture, ethical issues, and effective treatments for combat-related PTSD.

 My clinical specialties include the following:
  1. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma
  2. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy for Trauma/PTSD
  3. Gottman Method Couples Therapy
  4. Combat Stress & Trauma
  5. Veterans & First Responders
  6. Compassion Fatigue or Secondary Traumatic Stress
  7. LGBT population

Outpatient counseling services I provide:
  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling​
  • Gottman-based Couple's counseling
